
Spalding County is located in the west-central part of Georgia and
encompasses 201 square miles. Bordered by Clayton, Coweta, Fayette,
Henry, Butts, Lamar, Pike, and Meriwether counties, Spalding County
lies 40 miles south of downtown Atlanta and 55 miles northwest of
Macon.
Spalding County is a part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area

Eddie L. Freeman
Eddie
was born in Spalding County, Georgia on March 27, 1940, has been
married to the former Linda C. Tyson for more than 40 years and has
one daughter, Eden Freeman. Eddie attended Gordon College and the
University of Georgia receiving a degree in Criminal Justice. Eddie
worked for more than 30 years for the State of Georgia and at
retirement was a supervisory Probation Officer for the Georgia
Department of Corrections. In his spare time, Eddie has a plant
nursery and raises a variety of Japanese Maple trees. Elected to the
Spalding County Board of Commissioners from the Fourth District for a
four-year term in November 2004; sworn in December 28, 2004; served as
Chairman for the 2006 and 2007 calendar years.
