Spalding County is located in the west-central part of Georgia and encompasses 201 square miles. Bordered by Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, Butts, Lamar, Pike, and Meriwether counties, Spalding County lies 40 miles south of downtown Atlanta and 55 miles northwest of Macon.

How do I contact the Spalding County Fire Department?

For emergencies you dial 911 from any phone including cellular phones. For non-emergency business you can reach the department by dialing (770) 228-2129. Our mailing address is 600 Carver Road, Griffin, GA 30224. You can email to firedepartment@spaldingcounty.com.

What is the fire insurance rating for Unincorporated Spalding County?

Spalding County is currently rated class 5/9 by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). This rating applies to all of Unincorporated Spalding County including the cities of Orchard Hill and Sunnyside. The class 5 rating applies to houses within five miles of a County Fire Station and 1000’ of a fire hydrant. The class 9 rating applies to those not covered by the class 5 rating. Does the Spalding County Fire Department teach or provide fire safety education classes?

Yes. The department offers a variety of fire safety education opportunities. These include tours of individual community fire stations, visits to schools, the Friendly Firefighter and the Fire Safety House. To schedule one of these contact Linda Klaassen at (770) 228-2129.

Can I get my blood pressure checked at one of the fire stations?

Yes you can. All County Firefighters are trained First Responders and will be glad to assist you. Keep in mind that the Firefighters could be out on an emergency call when you go by the fire station. If you arrive at the station and no one is there, you should proceed on to the nearest hospital or doctors office if you feel your condition warrants help immediately.
