SPALDING COUNTY 4-H HIPPOLOGY TEAM ATTENDS 50TH ANNUAL QUARTER HORSE CONGRESS

The Spalding County 4-H Hippology team just returned from the 50th annual Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio where they participated in National Competition.

Members of the team are Dani Gibson, Tyler Gibson, Carly Nash and Martha Hicks. Their coach is Joanna Gibson. Carly Nash placed 2nd in the judging category, Dani Gibson place 9th in exam and the team placed 3rd in Judging.

Hippology is a four-part competition consisting of an exam, judging of horses, stations with items related to horses to identify and a team problem to solve. This contest is designed to demonstrate the breadth of the 4-H’ers knowledge and understanding of equine science and management, and in particular the practical application of knowledge and skill.

Hippology allows competitors to demonstrate the breadth of their knowledge and understanding of equine science and management and in particular the practical application of this knowledge and skill.
