Spalding County Board of Assessors is pleased to announce the promotion of Jerry Johnson as the Chief Appraiser for Spalding County. Mr. Johnson has served as the Interim Chief Appraiser since February of this year. Mr. Johnson held the position of Assistant Chief Appraiser from February 2018 until July 2018, when it was reclassified to Deputy Chief Appraiser. Since joining with Spalding County in August of 2013, Mr. Johnson has held the positions of Real Property Appraiser and Senior Appraiser.

Prior to his employment with Spalding County, Mr. Johnson was the Managing Broker, Appraiser and Loan Officer for Jerry Johnson Real Estate, in Griffin Georgia. As a life-long resident of Spalding County, Mr. Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge, understanding and commitment, to both the Tax Assessor’s Department and the entire County.

The Spalding County Board of Assessors unanimously approved Mr. Johnson’s promotion into this position. His experience, knowledge of the county and his calm and professional demeanor were some of the reasons they felt he was the right candidate for the job.
