In July 2019 the Spalding County Fire Department applied for a grant from the Walmart Community Grant Program. This program is a highly competitive program receiving more than 150,000 applications each year. Walmart and Walmart Foundation are committed to providing opportunities for organizations to improve the communities they serve.

Spalding County Fire Department was awarded $1,000 from this program to be used to purchase box fans for the community. These funds will enable the Fire Department to purchase approximately 56 box fans and they will be distributed on a first come first serve basis once received.

Anyone wishing to participate will need to complete a form. The forms are available at the Spalding County Fire Department Administration Offices located at 1005 Memorial Drive, Griffin, Georgia.
