SPALDING COUNTY TO BEGIN RESURFACING ROADS APPROVED IN THE 2019 LMIG

August 29th, 2019

Earlier this year Spalding County contracted with C.W. Matthews for the resurfacing for 13.24 miles of roadway. Funding for these projects came from GDOT’s LMIG (Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant program) and the 2016 SPLOST. The following roadways were identified for resurfacing in the 2019 LMIG:

Magnolia Trail – From Wood Road to the End
Henry Jackson Road – From Ellis Road to SR92
Ellis Road – From the City Limits to N. Pine Hill Road
Vaughn Lane – From Vaughn Road to New Salem Road
Church School Road – From New Salem Road to Vaughn Road
Foster Road – From Bailey Jester Road to the End
Maddoxwood Drive – From the City Limits to the End
School Road – From Old Atlanta Road to Minter Road
Cheatham Road – From Mission Circle to W. McIntosh Road
Clark Road – From Zebulon Road to Meadow Lane Drive
Crabtree Road – From W. Ellis Road to W. McIntosh Road
Camp Street – From N. Lee Street to E. McIntosh Road
Patterson Road – From Vineyard Road to School Road

Paving preparation on Henry Jackson Road, Ellis Road and Cheatham Road will begin on August 30th and will continue until completion, weather permitting. The road beds will need to be patched prior the new asphalt being applied and public should be prepared for slower traffic as the patching and repaving process will result in lane closures and one-lane of traffic on these roads.
