WENDY LAW APPOINTED HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

Spalding County is pleased to announce that Wendy H. Law has been appointed Human Resources Director. Ms. Law has served in several positions in the Human Resources Department over her 25 year career with Spalding County. She began her career as the Human Resources Department Secretary in 1992 and was promoted in 1998 to the Assistant to the Human Resources Director where she has served for the past 19 years. Ms. Law obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 2015 and is a 2015 Graduate of Leadership Griffin Spalding and a 2017 Graduate of the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government Management Development Program.

County Manager William P. Wilson, Jr. made the announcement of Ms. Law’s promotion at the Spalding County Board of Commissioners Meeting on Monday, June 5th.

According to Mr. Wilson, “Wendy Law is the best candidate for this position, her willingness to continue her education and grow within her position as Assistant to the Human Resources Director has made her the perfect candidate for the position. Wendy is known and trusted by the employees of Spalding County and she has proven her abilities to take on the challenges of her new role as HR Director.” Mr. Wilson further stated that “I am proud to promote from within our staff such a talented individual. Wendy will play a key role in achieving the organizational vision of Spalding County to create an inclusive workplace that develops our employees so we can better serve our residents.”

Ms. Law is a native of Griffin and has two grown sons Joshua and Ben and is a member of First Baptist Church.
