County employees enrolled in the UGA Management Development Program are collecting food items in Fayette, Spalding, Newton, Fulton, Coweta and Sumter Counties.

The food drive will take place beginning December 19th and ending on December 30th, 2016. There will be collection sites at the Spalding County Annex, Room 110, and the Fire Administration Complex, 1005 Memorial Drive, Griffin, Georgia. They will be collecting non-perishable food items.

County employees who are enrolled in the UGA Management Development Program reviewed numerous opportunities to serve the community and determined the greatest impact would be a food drive to feed families in need during the holiday season and upcoming winter months.

The Management Development Program is a 20 week leadership development training program for Department Heads and mid-level managers. The Class of 2017 includes 18 county employees representing six Georgia counties.

The Mid West Food Bank – Georgia Division is located in Peachtree City, GA and the food collected will be shared with over 200 non-profit organizations located in 42 counties.
