Community Involvement



On Thursday December 17, 2020, representatives from 1888 Mills delivered eight (8) boxes of towels to the SCFD Headquarters. The
towels will be used from everyday station and truck maintenance to rescues and recovery.
1888 Mills HR Assistant, Maria Sandoval, stated, “Our brand purpose is “Weaving a Better World” and our main focus here at 1888 Mills are People, Planet, and Prosperity! We are so thankful to our Spalding County Fire Department and feel so lucky to be able to give back to those men and women who serve and save community members every day. Thank you all so much for all that you do!”

On Monday December 14, 2020, Peter Phelps, president of the Spalding County Pickleball Association (SCPA) and wife Sheila Phelps represented Spalding County Pickleball Association in donating $500 to our Spalding County Fire Department to go towards fire safety/burn prevention programs in Spalding County. The check was presented to Chief Glenn Polk, Chief Mike Byrd, and Assistant County Manager, Michelle Irizarry.

Community Service

Spalding County firefighters participate annually in the “Boot Drive” for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. This association partners with the fire service to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery.
