Every year in the Spring Georgia 4-H host a District Project Achievement. This is a public speaking competition hosted where students in the 5th and 6th grade compete at Cloverleaf DPA, while those in 7th-12th grade attend the Junior & Senior DPA at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. The Junior & Senior DPA was held in early March.
A total of 609 4-H members from 36 counties in northwest Georgia competed in their project areas at Rock Eagle 4-H Center during District Project Achievement. The competition involved the culmination of project work done during the previous 12 months. 4-H members gave oral presentations and completed project portfolios for this competition. Spalding County took 26 participants.
Hope Stewart, 2018-2019 Northwest District Senior Board member, served in a leadership capacity during the weekend. Jhaycee Barnes was elected to Northwest District Senior Board and will serve in that capacity for the 2019-2020 4-H year that will start in August. Three 4-H members won the opportunity to compete in their project areas on the State level during 4-H State Congress in July: Will Alexander, Jhaycee Barnes, and Jalen Favors.
