SPALDING COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS TO HOST “BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER 2017”

Spalding County Public Works will be hosting the Christmas Tree Recycling Event on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and residents can drop off their Christmas trees at one of the following sites in Spalding County:

Akin Recycling Center
841 McDonough Road
Griffin, Georgia

Blalock Recycling Center
5756 Newnan Road
Griffin, Georgia

Woodruff Recycling Center
4245 Old Atlanta Road
Griffin, Georgia

Cabin Creek Recycling Center
3865 Jackson Road
Griffin, GA

Carver Road Recycling Center
610 Carver Road
Griffin, Georgia

Area residents will go green and drop off Christmas trees to be chipped into mulch or used as a wildlife habitat. The program has been a holiday tradition in Georgia for 26 years and is the largest tree recycling program in the nation. The purpose of the event is to educate the public on recycling and environmental conservation while allowing communities to put discarded Christmas trees to good use.

Program sponsors include: The Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, The Home Depot, The Davey Tree Expert Company, Georgia Forestry Commission, 11 Alive, Atlanta’s NBC Affiliate, Ferry Morse Company and Burpee Seed Company.
