SPALDING COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS TO HOST “BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER 2019”

January 4th, 2019

Spalding County Public Works will be hosting this Christmas Tree Recycling Event so residents can drop off their Christmas trees at one of the following sites in Spalding County from now until January 31st, 2019:

Carver Road Recycling Center
610 Carver Road
Griffin, Georgia

Akin Recycling Center
841 McDonough Road
Griffin, Georgia

Woodruff Recycling Center
4245 Old Atlanta Road
Griffin, Georgia

Blalock Recycling Center
5756 Newnan Road
Griffin, Georgia

Cabin Creek Recycling Center
3865 Jackson Road
Griffin, Georgia

Area residents will go green and drop off Christmas trees to be chipped into mulch or used as a wildlife habitat. The program has been a holiday tradition in Georgia for 28 years and is the largest tree recycling program in the nation. The purpose of the event is to educate the public on recycling and environmental conservation while allowing communities to put discarded Christmas trees to good use.

Please note that your Christmas Trees will be accepted at all of the Spalding County Recycle Centers; however, to participate in the “Bring One For the Chipper Program” you will need to take your tree to the Carver Road Recycling Center location.

Program sponsors include: The Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, The Home Depot, The Davey Tree Expert Company, Georgia Forestry Commission, 11 Alive, Atlanta’s NBC Affiliate, Ferry Morse Company and Burpee Seed Company.
