SPALDING COUNTY SENIOR CENTER TO CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH WEEKLY EXHIBITIONS AND A DINNER & DANCE

January 19th, 2018

The Spalding County Senior Center will celebrate Black History Month by hosting weekly Historical Exhibitions leading up to a Dinner & Dance.

February 8, 2018: An International History Museum will be on display in the Senior
Center Art Room from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. presented by Mr. John Henley and Mr. Eugene Mays.
February 15, 2018: Seniors will be able to tour the Griffin-Spalding Hall of Fame from
1:00 p.m.-3:00p.m., the tour guide will be Chairman Dan McLean.
February 22, 2018: Griffin-Spalding County Archivist, Cynthia Barton will present
“The Lost Soldiers” from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Senior Center Conference Room.

The celebration of Black History Month will end with a Southern Style Dinner & Dance to be held on:

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Senior Citizens Center Banquet Hall
885 Memorial Drive
Griffin, Georgia

Entertainment will be performed by Frankie’s Blues Mission out of Atlanta. The band specializes in Blues, Jazz & R&B.

The event is open to adults age 50 and over. The registration fee for Senior Center Members is $4.00 and $8.00 for non-members.
