Spalding County Extension announced that six (6) new Master Gardener Extension Volunteers (MGEV) recently completed a twelve (12) week training program. Master Gardener is an intensive horticultural learning experience designed to train participants in horticulture and gardening according to Wade Hutcheson, Spalding County Agent.

The newest MGEV interns are Amber Rowland, Laci Rowland, Foster Dillard, James Weeks, Michael and Mary Ann Whitehurst. MGEV interns now are required to complete fifty (50) hours of volunteer service with the Spalding County UGA Extension Service.

Spalding Extension MGEV’s completed 664 hours of volunteer services in 2017 reaching over 2,270 individuals in our community.
