Due to the heavy amount of disposables and recyclables that people collect over the Christmas Holiday, the Spalding County recycling centers will be open on Friday, December 26th, the day after Christmas.

Spalding County has five (5) collection centers:

• Akin Station (841 South McDonough Road)
• Blalock Station (5767 Newnan. Road)
• Cabin Station (3865 Jackson Road)
• Carver Road Station (610 Carver Road)
• Woodroof Station (4245 Old Atlanta Road)

All Collection Centers will accept: bagged household garbage; large, bulky items such as furniture, mattresses, TV’s and other large items that on occasion are generated by a resident, scrap metal such as washing machines, dryers, water heaters, gutters, metal pots and pans, and other metal objects that do not contain Freon. Recyclables such as: newspapers, magazines, office paper, phonebooks, cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, glass food and beverage containers are also accepted at these locations.
